FAQ

Q. I've never ridden a motorcycle before, is the Basic Rider Course for me?

A. Yes! The basic rider course starts with the basics and gradually progresses to more advanced skills. Beginning and experienced riders will benefit from this course.

Q. How do I register?

A. Visit our website and schedule/pay by credit card, or call our office at 512-341-0930.

Q. Which course do I need to take to get my license?

A. The Basic Rider Course is required to get your license. Please note that you will still need to take a written test at DPS in order to get your license.

Q. What is your refund policy?

A. We'll do whatever we can to get you through class successfully. However, if you fail to show up, or you miss a significant portion of the class, you may forfeit your tuition or be required to pay a rescheduling fee. We do not offer refunds on gift certificates.

Q. What forms of payment are acceptable?

A. Whatever is convenient for you! If scheduling online, you can use your Pay Pal account to submit payment, or you have the option of continuing the payment process without a Pay Pal account and using your MasterCard or Visa. If scheduling by phone, we can take MasterCard or Visa. If you schedule far enough in advance, you can mail a money order. We do require payment at the time you schedule your class to in order to guarantee your space.

Q. Which courses are approved for ticket dismissal?

A. If your ticket is for not having a license, you must take the Basic Rider Course. If you already have your license, you can take any other DPS-approved course. To find out about those courses, you can call the Motorcycle Safety Unit at 512-424-2021.

Q. What do I have to bring?

A. Over-the-ankle foot wear (such as boots), long pants, eye protection and long-sleeve shirt or jacket. We provide full-fingered gloves and helmets, but you are welcome to use your own if you have them.
